Food Lover. Angler. Writer.
Bug—it’s a family given nickname that has stuck since childhood. Making time to enjoy my morning cup of coffee, traveling with a fly rod in hand, preparing delicious meals in the outdoors and adventuring with my partner Dave and our pup Benson are just a few things that make my world go round.
After graduating high school in my hometown of Fort Collins, I moved to the mountains in northwest Colorado—Steamboat Springs. It was there that I obtained my Business degree while snowboarding everyday between classes.
A passion for action sports, turned into an obsession with fly fishing.
After chasing winter on my snowboard for a number of years, I felt an urge to learn something new. Just before graduating from Colorado Mountain College, I took an Intro to Fly-fishing class. The class traveled to the famed Green River in Utah and it was there that I ultimately fell in love with fly fishing. With passion and determination, and a few years under by belt I pursued opportunities within the Fly fishing community and became a Redington Gear Ambassador. I try to shape my life as one fishing trip after another.
I love to feed the people around me good meals—whether it be on the river, from a boat or around the campfire.
For me food is an essential part of every moment spent outside, though I found it on the back burner whenever I would get outside. Often subjecting myself to gas station snacks or going an entire day without eating. Eventually I began incorporating delicious but easy to prepare food into my adventures. Bug Bites is a creative endeavor of mine, to share ideas with those who don’t like to go hungry.
